60-year Prison Term for 61-year-old Eric Davis Who Shot, Killed Theodore ‘Bino’ Riley in Kingman Park Neighbourhood

Eric Davis, 61, of Washington, D.C., has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for the July 2021 shooting of Theodore ‘Bino’ Riley in the Kingman Park neighbourhood.

The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves and Chief Pamela A. Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).

A Superior Court jury found Davis guilty of first-degree murder while armed and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence or dangerous offence on May 2, 2024, before the Honorable Michael O’Keefe.

According to evidence presented during the trial, on July 19, 2021, at around 7:33 p.m., Davis was captured on surveillance walking with the victim, Theodore Riley, to an alley adjacent to 1608 Gales Street Northeast.

Once in the alley, Davis shot Riley once in the head.

The defendant then quickly walked out of the south end of the alley and fled while attempting to change his outward appearance by putting on a long-sleeved shirt over the short-sleeved shirt he had been wearing.

Riley was found in the alley face-down with a single .45 calibre casing at his feet. Davis was arrested on September 22, 2021.
