A man has been charged with murder after officers stopped him at Notting Hill Carnival.
Detectives had previously issued an appeal to locate Kamar Williams, who was wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of 53-year-old Derek Thomas in Stoke Newington.
Kamar Williams, 33 (21.01.91), from the Isle of Dogs, E14, was arrested on Monday, 26 August.
He was charged with murder and possession of a knife on Tuesday, 27 August.
Williams will appear in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 28 August.
Derek’s family has been informed and continues to be supported by specialist officers.
A 30-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday, 3 August, on suspicion of assisting an offender and taken into custody. She was later released on bail.
