Two men have been charged with burglary after a Banksy artwork was stolen from a London gallery.
This follows an investigation by detectives from the Met’s Flying Squad.
Larry Fraser, 47, of Evelyn Denington Road, Beckton, and James Love, 53, of Elvin Drive, North Stifford, were charged on Thursday, 11 September, with non-residential burglary and remanded in Police Custody.
Both appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 12 September where they were bailed to next appear at Kingston Crown Court on Wednesday, 9 October.
The investigation was launched after a burglary at a gallery in New Cavendish Street, W1 at around 23:00hrs on Sunday, 8 September.
A Banksy painting entitled ‘Girl with balloon’ was the only item stolen. This has now been recovered and will be returned to the gallery.
